“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
New Hope Counseling had its beginnings in 2004 as New Hope Ministry, a support ministry for adult women survivors of sexual abuse. But the seed was truly planted in 1992 when I began healing from my childhood sexual abuse trauma. It has been a painful and difficult process but, during this time, I came to experience God's love for me: He was fully present with me and empowered me to heal, grow, and change. He never left me and He never will!
I had been a stay-at-home mom for many years and was unsure of what would come next. But, God had a plan! As I began to heal, a desire grew to help others who struggle with the after effects of sexual abuse. I returned to school in 2001; first at Cumberland County College, then on to Thomas Edison State College for my bachelor’s degree. Finally, in 2010 I graduated from Wilmington University with a master’s degree in Community Counseling. It was a wonderful day and a great affirmation of God’s love and purpose for me.
New Hope Counseling was granted non-profit status in June, 2010. Our funding comes solely from donations and minimal client fees. Donations are tax-deductible.
God has a plan for healing, restoration, and transformation for each of our lives. The path to healing can feel impossible, but however great your pain, Jesus came to set you free. Please feel free to contact us if there is any way we can help.
Praise be to God for He has shown His wonderful love to us!! - Nancy
